Yesterday I arrived at Paw Paw's Pecans in Morrilton, AK.
What a beautiful, reflective and peaceful spot!. The tree lined drive leads up to the Grand house which was inspired by 'Oak Alley'. The homestead is only a couple miles from the road but you would think you are in the middle of the country, absolutely inspiring in itself.
Standing among the rows and rows or pecan trees, over 6,000 I believe, with only the moonlight is truly wonderful. I can only imagine the stars at night without the bright moon.
A great reason to go back.
I went to this location because there was a hint of quilts in the pictures. Turns out the 'Lady of the Manor', Charlotte, is a quilter. And her husband is her quilt designer! The quilts were beautiful and spirited; almost as interesting as the couple themselves. And they are totally fascinating.
The main reason for writing this blog about Paw Paw's Pecans is it is a Bed & Breakfast. Along with venue space
for retreats, wedding and such this property is a real find. The venue has a full kitchen, all the electricity and tables you could wish for along with light that is an artist's dream. The venue also has huge doors that can open to the outside to provide even more light and inspiration. They have accommodations for 10 in 5 double rooms. They are members of Harvest Host allowing you to park you RV for an overnight stay. Which could come in handy for those traveling quilters.
If I were closer I would definitely set up a retreat or a teaching stay. Look into it, you will be pleasantly surprised.
Thank you for a wonderful stay
