For a change of view and easier driving, I decided to take the Ohio River Scenic Byway, Highway 52. Crossing over the bridge into Ohio was up there on my list. I actually crossed the river 4 times that day.
I drove though little port cities for the first portion of the journey. Talk about seeing another side of American life. Looked a bit hard.
Once I passed through Portsmouth the "scenic" portion began.
Huge farms with houses to match. Huge trees and small quaint cities. Lots of campgrounds on the river with various offering and alluring views.
Stopped a couple times on the way just to enjoy the sights.
Picture to the left was taken on the Ohio side of a city on the Kentucky side.
What I thought would be an easy days drive turned into a Florida size rain storm late in the afternoon. And as we luck will have it, I know a thing about heavy downpours. Beauty and I kept going, steady and slow until we made to the other side of the storm.
Once again Beauty prevailed and we all spent a cozy night inside.
Sweet dreams, all
I love the name beauty, totally fits you and the bus. Nicely written story of your day.
