Dr Seuss Baby Quilt

I grew up on Dr Seuss. I read his stories to my child. I hope to read these same books to my my grandchildren. Dr Seuss is all about imagination and playing with thought and words. His big books tell wonderful lessons.

The Sneetches - be nice to everyone;

Oh the Places You'll Go- think outside the box,

The Lorax -our World needs us to care

Thidwick the big hearted Moose -

always be a good guest

and of course, my Favorite, Horton -

Everyone matters, no matter what.

Dr Seuss is one of my heroes. I love his imagination. He made up his own dictionary! Made stories to go with them. I wish I could of came up with some of his characters. Horton was my childhood role model. He was kind and thoughtful. Plus he stuck to his plan and helped others see what was in front of them. I think we still have lots to learn from him.

Needless to say, I have been collecting pieces of Robert Kaufmann's Dr Seuss fabrics for years. I made a top for my yet to be born grandbaby before my only son was old enough to vote. Not that I wanted him to have a child, I just did not want a grandchild to be here without a quilt from his Grandma. If I was not around.

oh goodness, this post is very sentimental!

anyway, I wanted to share my latest Etsy listing.

I had a hard time giving my Dr Seuss fabrics up, but I think he would agree, sharing is the way to go
