I spent a leisurely day driving the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. This road is, I believe, the top part of the Trace which starts in Natchez, MS.
It is a beautiful drive through trees and waterways. Part of our protected lands, so thankful we have them.
I made it in time to visit Casey Jones distillery in Hopkinsville, KY. The place was buzzing getting ready for the annual 'Lights Outs' evening. The first started with the Total Solar Eclipse in 2017.
It is a night of music, good company, celebration and Bourbon. I was fortunate enough to be able to stay for the event and camp on property. I did help setup, which after days on the road it felt good to 'belong' a bit.
The bands, the food trucks, the people, brought together by this great couple was a memorable event. Plus the Moonshine Margaritas helped add to the overall cheer.
If you get the chance, take the country road, your visit will be one to pass along.
sounds like a fun night
